Welcome to Brixworth Class...

Here in Brixworth class you will find our year 5 and year 6 children.  They are taught by Mrs Carpenter who is supported by Miss Rees and Miss Errington.  In the Summer term the class theme is ‘Coast to Coast’ and the children will be geographers whilst finding out about seaside locations around the UK.  They will also spend time focussing on what a coastline is and how it is formed. And also how we use maps to locate human and physical features of the landscapeThey will then look at the purpose of a beach hut in order to design and make their own versions, using computer aided design techniques and a simple electrical circuit.  The links below will show you the areas which will be covered over this term during the topic and will also show you the yearly overview.

  • Label a map of the UK with famous beaches and bring into school to share
  • Visit your local library at East Hunsbury or Wootton to read and borrow books about coasts and seasides, mystery stories or children's poetry.
  • Look together on the internet to find poems about the seaside and bring into school to read to your class or share with a friend.
