Collective Worship

Each half term our collective worship is linked to one of our school values which underpin our school vision.  Collective worship is led by our staff, children and visitors and takes place daily in our school hall.  We use music, images, invitational prayer and reflection time to deepen the children's understanding of the world around them and thier own spirituality.

We also regularly visit our local church, Holy Cross, for collective worship events linked to harvest, remembrance, Christingle, Easter and leavers celebration. Canon Richard Stainer joins us for these events and will lead prayers and blessings.

Milton Parochial Primary School is a Christian values-based Church school at the heart of our community, where we strive for excellence and encourage and nurture every child to reach their God-given full potential to flourish – educationally, personally, morally and spiritually.

Love your neighbour as yourself (Matthew 22:36-40) and do to others as you’d have them do to you (Luke 6:31)

Value School Definition  Bible Quotation
Kindness We think of others and treat them how we would like to be treated. So in everything, do to others as you would have them do to you.” Matthew 7:12
Respect We value everyone and everything. In everything set them an example by doing what is good.” Titus 2:7
Responsibility We take ownership of our actions. Everyone should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.” Galatians 6:4-5
Honesty We tell the truth. For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of Man.” 2 Corinthians 8:21
Perseverance We never give up. I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.” Revelations 2:19
Love We show care towards each other. Dear children, let us not love with word or speech, but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18
Forgiveness We learn from our mistakes and we do not remember wrongs. Be kind and compassionate to each other, forgive each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
